AI visibility tracking

Track your brand across AI answers

AI visibility tracking monitors how often AI assistants name, cite or recommend your brand when users ask questions in your category. Answerly runs your prompt set across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews (Google AI Mode is in progress). and reports mention rate, citation rate, share of voice and cited sources over time. Every number is shown with its sample size and margin of error, and the raw AI answer behind it is stored so you can verify it — a single AI reply is a sample, not a verdict.

Why analytics cannot see this

When an assistant answers in full, there is often no click — so the impression never reaches Google Analytics and the loss is invisible in your traffic reports. The only way to know whether AI recommends you is to ask the question and record the answer. That is what tracking does.

Set a baseline you can defend

Pick the questions your customers actually ask, run them repeatedly across engines, and get a starting point with n and a margin of error. The first number you report to a client or a board should survive the question "how sure are you?" — a baseline built from single runs does not.

Three metrics, tracked separately

Mention rate is how often your brand is named in the answer. Citation rate is how often your site is linked as a source. Share of voice is your mentions against competitors across the prompt set. They move independently, so a single blended score would hide which one is actually failing.

Trend without false precision

Movements inside the margin of error are marked as noise, not progress, and comparisons are weighted by sample size. This is the difference between reporting "we grew 4 points" and reporting "that is sampling variance" — the second is less exciting and far more useful.

Per engine, per market

Results are reported per engine and per geo, because both change the answer. A brand can be recommended in one market and absent in another for the same question, and averaging that away removes the finding you needed.

Scheduled runs and re-checks

Prompt sets run on a schedule so the trend keeps building, and any page you ship can be rescanned to test whether it changed the outcome. Evidence for each run is stored, so the history stays auditable rather than being a line on a chart.

FAQ

How do I monitor whether AI mentions my brand?

Add the questions your customers ask, and Answerly runs them across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and AI Overviews on a schedule, recording whether your brand is named or cited each time — with sample size and the raw answer.

Why is one ChatGPT answer not a measurement?

AI answers are non-deterministic — ask the same question twice and you can get different brands. A reliable metric needs repeated sampling and a stated margin of error, which is why Answerly never reports a single run as a trend.

Can I track how AI describes my brand?

You can read the captured answers to see how your brand is described over time. Answerly shows the evidence rather than overclaiming a precise sentiment score.

Does Google Analytics show AI visibility?

No. When the assistant answers without sending a click, there is nothing for analytics to record. Direct measurement of the answer is the only reliable signal.
