Competitor intelligence
See who AI recommends instead of you
AI competitor tracking shows which rivals AI assistants name and cite in your category, measures your AI share of voice against them, and pinpoints the exact prompts where a competitor wins and you are absent. Answerly does this across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews (Google AI Mode is in progress). with the raw answer behind every result.
Share of voice, weighted honestly
Share of voice is how often each brand is named across your prompt set. Answerly weights it by sample size, so a lightly-sampled prompt cannot swing the number, and reports it per engine rather than as one cross-engine average that hides where you actually lose.
Prompt-level gap analysis
The most actionable output is the list of specific questions where a competitor is named or cited and you are not. That is the difference between "we are behind in AI" and a to-do list a content or PR team can start on this week.
Mention gap vs citation gap
Losing the name-drop and losing the source link are different problems. A mention gap usually means the model does not associate you with that category or use case; a citation gap usually means your page is not the most citable answer for that query. Answerly separates them so effort goes where it moves the metric you care about.
Find the competitors you did not list
Assistants routinely surface rivals that are not on your usual competitor list — including smaller players with strong third-party coverage. Tracking what the model actually names, rather than only the brands you nominate, is often the more useful finding.
Filter unverifiable entities
Some names come back with no real site behind them — surfaced only through a maps link or a thin listing. Answerly flags these as unverifiable and keeps them out of confirmed-competitor metrics until reviewed, so they do not inflate anyone's share of voice, including yours.
Understand why they win
For each prompt where a rival is cited, you can see the sources the answer drew from. That usually explains the gap better than any on-page audit: the model trusts a set of third-party pages, and the competitor is present on them.

FAQ
How can I find prompts where AI recommends a competitor?
Answerly runs your prompt set across engines and flags every prompt where a competitor is mentioned or cited and your brand is not — with the captured answer as proof.
How is AI share of voice measured?
By how often each brand is mentioned across your tracked prompts, weighted by sample size, with unverifiable entities excluded from confirmed-competitor metrics until reviewed.
Why does AI keep recommending a competitor?
Usually because that competitor is named or cited on the third-party sources the model trusts for those prompts. Answerly shows those sources so you can target them.
Can I track competitors I did not add manually?
Yes. Answerly records the brands the answers actually name, so rivals you had not listed still show up in the category picture.
